Eversmart - old direct debit
Hello, Eversmart had been taking direct debits for an old property, months after i had moved out. They had taken 2 months worth before i noticed the first time, this was adjusted and refunded after a quick phone call. I thought this was final and the account was closed, but they have taken a further 2 direct debits and i…

Smart meter and meter not going down! Stuck on same amount.
Over the past couple of days I have noticed my smart meter has been stuck on the same amount. I've also checked the meter and its showing the same amount. I have a pre paid smart meter from SSE. Should I call them and let them know or should SSE be keeping tabs on it?

Vaillant says Vaillant flue kit is excluded from my warranty!?
An independent plumber installed in my house a Vaillant boiler 4 years ago (combi boiler ecoTec plus 832) together with a Vaillant flue kit connecting the boiler to the outside of the house. The boiler was sold together with a 10-year extended warranty (which is the main reason why I went with Vaillant instead of Worcester…

Extra Energy - PwC administrator disregards OFGEM decision
Hi Everyone, Extra Energy failed to set up my account, and did not bill me correctly for a 3 year period ( I did all I could to get this done, they had my card details, email, phone, called them numerous times only to be told there is a problem with their IT system). WARNING: Money Expert door stoppers
Just a warning about people that sell energy at the door. I had a guy get into our block by buzzing another property and saying he was coming to read the meter. He then proceeded to knock on every door, he shouted through the door that it was about the meter. When the door was opened he said he was from MONEY EXPERT and…

Monthly Electric bill....
Hi All, Am just trying to gauge what the average electric bill is these days to see if we're somehow using too much. Our electric seems to be around the £60 a month mark (use about 380 kWh a month) got one of those 'owl' energy meters. Our house is a small three bed townhouse - two adults, no kids. All light bulbs changed…

What's the right order to switch and upgrade?
Hello all, I recently purchases my first property which is a 1 bed flat in Edinburgh, with both gas and electric currently supplied by SSE. Gas is on their standard rate with a direct debit set up, electric is on a pre-payment meter. I have three things that I'd like to do, and am looking for guidance as to the best order…

Regular Boiler - Size Matters - Why?
Can someone explain what a higher output on a regular boiler would actually do. For example, if I have a hot water tank and 10 radiators. If I had a 25kW boiler, and a 30kW boiler. How would the 30kW boiler impact the system? It would refill the hot water tank faster? For radiators does it mean they heat up faster, and/or…

Separate electric meter for heating, how do I switch?
Heya! I am new to the forum, and new to the world of confusing energy issues. I have just started the rental of my new apartment which has two energy meters, the agent explained one is a 'high' meter for the heating, and one is a 'low' meter for all other things. I dont really understand entirely what this means for me and…

Dual Tarriffs and switching supplier: vicious cycle
Long time lurker, first time poster! I did a search yesterday and couldn't find this problem discussed. We are on a dual tarriff (night and day), as this was what operating when we bought this house. We want to change supplier. The new supplier doesn't offer a dual tarriff, so cannot take us on because our meter won't read…

Energy Crisis - Direct Debit Nearly TRIPLED
Can someone please help? After signing up to Look After My Bills, we switched to EON from British Gas. The direct debit more or less stayed the same until a few months later, our direct debit was reviewed due to the monthly meter readings and our direct debit changed from £64pm to £158pm. There are two of us, living in a…

Troubles with incorrect meter data - help!
Hi all, I've got a problem which seems to stem from when I had new meters installed. From what i gather, it looks like the meter serial number was missing or incorrect when recorded by the installation engineer. Now, I've recently (3months ago) moved from Scottish power to EDF, and this is clearly causing problems, with my…

Need help with choosing energy supplier
As my gas/electricity contract with OVO is nearly up, I am looking for the most advantageous supplier. Comparison sites are said to be the answer but being well stricken in years I confess to finding them somewhat baffling. They simply suggest how much I could save compared with my present plan or with OVO's standard…

Extra Energy Alleged Arrears; How To Dispute?
Hi, So Extra Energy are trying to charge me approximately £700.00 usage in one month! So from September 2018 where I was in credit by £180.00 ish they are trying to charge me nearly £600.00 for energy used October to November; majority of which is for gas. The gas is only used for heating and hot water so I've disputed…

Tariffs when your energy company goes bust.
I was with One Select when it went bust and we were allocated to Together Energy without notice and without asking. They immediately increased our tarries for gas and electricity. On the MSE tv programme on Monday evening Martin stated that the old company tariffs were honoured. Is this the case? Any one know the answer.
