Eversmart - old direct debit

Hello,

Eversmart had been taking direct debits for an old property, months after i had moved out.

They had taken 2 months worth before i noticed the first time, this was adjusted and refunded after a quick phone call. I thought this was final and the account was closed, but they have taken a further 2 direct debits and i only noticed when the company had already stopped trading.

How do i go about getting my money back?

I know Utilita will handle the credit balance on my account for where i live now, but who would handle a direct debit refund?

Under the direct debit guarantee, would TSB refund incorrect direct debits?

Thanks.

Yes, TSB will refund under the DD guarantee. But why on earth did you allow the DD to stay active ?

I'm with Molerat, why didn't you cancel the DD, especially after they'd already taken one that they weren't entitled to.

Ask you bank to recover the money under the Direct Debit Guarantee scheme and keep a closer eye on what is going on with your bank account in future
