Moving Suppliers
My daughter has recently moved into a new build property, Electric & Gas supplied by Scottish Power automatically.
My daughter wanted to move to another supplier, but was told by SP, that she needs to provide meters details as they do not know which property she lives in, this she done, then told it takes 28 days to set up. After 2.5 months she is still told by SP that she has to wait, she has no idea of her tariff even though she has asked. Her new appointed supplier informed her they cannot go ahead with taking on the property until she has a bill of proof, showing her details and meter details.
It appears Scottish Power are holding her to ransom, fobbing her off with complicated details.
Anyway we can take this forward so she can move to a different supplier asap ?.

Your tariff will almost certainly be the default/standard tariff.
You have given SP the opening meter readings? Just because it was a new build doesn't mean the opening figures were zero on the meter.0 -
If you already haven't done so. Raise a complaint and if they still are unable to resolve it then go to the ombudsman.0

Thanks all. After a lengthy online chat, my daughter now has a account number, forwarded the latest readings, over to the other supplier to sort it out now. What a performance.0
