Energy Bill mix up
I'm looking for help regarding a mix up with my energy bill through Scottish Power. Basically, I has new electricity and gas meters installed in March 2016, provided new readings etc and accepted by SP. I didn't really take too much notice of the bills as the subsequent were summer months and obviously not too much gas…

Moving house
I have just moved house and my new house is currently with British Gas for both gas and electricity. I obviously want to switch supplier to a better deal but do I need to sign up with the British Gas first (on a non-contracted tariff presumably) then switch or can I just sign up straight away with the new supplier? Thanks.

Flow Energy - Warning: They don't read the gas meter
Just as a warning to others, Flow Energy don't read the gas meter. They read the electric every 3 months but not the gas. So if you don't provide readings yourself they will continue to estimate. I've recently moved and now landed with an eight hundred pound bill. :(

Warm Home Discount problems with BG
Hi I did the collective switch with MSE and moved from BG but they have closed my account and say they cannot pay my WHD on a closed account (I am core group). Someone else from BG says I will get it next year. Has anyone else had this trouble?

Smart meter from OVO. Updatable to support other suppliers
Just had a call for a smart meter from ovo My initial response was no, I’ll wait for a version 2. But they said there’s no benefit because version 1 can be update via a software update. Would you upgrade?

First Time Buyer
It seems to be surprisingly hard to find info for my scenario though I'm sure it can't be uncommon. I've just bought a flat for the first time and I need to sort out energy. It was a repossession so the electric and gas were cut off, so I don't have an existing supplier per se. Obviously I'll need an engineer out to…

Another 'Smart' Metre Question.
Hi, I have a question or two about the 'smart' metre roll out. I hope you can answer my questions/concerns. 1. Are they mandatory? 2. What smart metre do I need to ensure I receive once mine is upgraded? - I've read other members have had problems switching and then loosing the 'smart' functions. 3. Is it worth me trying…

Hi Can't seem to see where to post this on the C.E.Club, so posting here. Toto Energy, who told me on 2nd December that my switch from Ecotricity had gone through, were lying. They've only switched electricity. How do I cancel the switch and try a different supplier please? Thanks

I have a Honeywell thermostat (HCW80) with a receiver and the boiler works fine for hot water but the central heating keeps switching off and I have to restart the receiver or turn the thermostat down and up again to start it. Also the timer doesn't seem to be working for the second programme. I…

Dodgy boiler engineer or bad luck?
Hi, I have a 7 year old logic combi boiler. I had it serviced last year for the first time and everything was fine. About two weeks ago I used the same engineer to service it again(i'd informed him of the fact that it had recently lost pressure and was only giving me cold water until i re-pressurised it. He carried out the…

npower - sheer incompetence
Having a bit of a nightmare with npower at the moment... September last year I had my meter safety inspection. A few months later, my npower account was thrown into cayos - I had two account numbers instead of one, my tariffs had disappeared, lost my bills, meter readings, etc. It turned out that the meter safety inspector…

Central Heating inhibitor
Early this morning my Ideal Logic combi boiler suddenly stopped working. The 'low water pressure: Fill system to 1.0 bar' message came up. I did this, but then realised I couldn't remember the exact 'off' position for the taps that let water into the system. I thought I had switched them back to where they should be, but I…

Smart meters - current prepayment ones next to each other
I wish to change both gas and electric meters to a smart meter, however at present they are next to each other. Would it be a simple case of replacing current ones or they would have to be relocated? If relocated im not sure where it can go given the size of the house (small).

Bargain co's not listed on MSE but found on Uswitch
I was disappointed to not find suppliers you can't switch to via MSE on the MSE energy comparison, that is why I always do a check on Uswitch and other sites. I did such a search on Uswitch at the beginning of 2017 and found Solarplicity, I have been meaning to switch to them, at the time they promised to save me around…
