No. I would wait until SMETS2 meters are available. The software update has yet to be tested on the DCC systems and it does not update the meter to full SMETS2 compliance.

The main smart meter manufacturers, Landis and Gyr also state that their latest smart meters can be upgradeable OTA, ( over the air )too. I have no reason to doubt that claim0
