Edf do not touch this company
My problem is paying them any money. It took them 6 months to accept that I existed and now I have left them they continue to chase money even though I have letters from them agreeing I have paid in full. They are now threatening to shut the electricity off, but they do not supply me Scottish Power do, and yet when I call…

I owe money to Eon but I'm moving out of property...
Hi, i currently owe money to Eon around £1200 for both electricity and gas. They have been more than unhelpful in arranging a way for me to pay back the balance except for threatening to fit a prepayment meter. I rent the property, so its not an option for me to have them fitted as I'm not the landlord/owner etc otherwise…

Thank you to British Gas
Might be a little unusual this one. In October before the gas and elec price rises I moved to First Utility on a two year fixed deal. Turns out that they got the Gas meter number wrong and didn't bother to sort it out or tell me! So anyway got a bill from British Gas this morning for the gas I have used and not paid for…

Huge Electricity Bill - Npower
Hi all, I'm having major issues with my electricity billing - first of all, there's only two of us living in an electricity only apartment (standard sort of size). We're at work in the week from 8.30 until 5.30 ish, and our usage in my opinion would be average. Our combined electricity bill from July 2012 - Present is just…

Gas meter stopped updating 2 months ago
I noticed the other day that my gas meter has been 'stuck' on the same reading since when it was last read by NPower back in November. Since the end of Nov I've put the gas CH on, although a lot less than last year as it's been milder, and I've added some insulation to my property. There's an engineer coming round next…

4 Year old bill
4 years ago I moved house and believed I had paid all relevent bills for the gas and electricity for my old property, however this morning I received a bill for gas supply at the old property. Is there any rules that say the utility company can still bill after such a long period of time? Any advice would be most welcome.

Unrequested transfer
Has anyone else experienced this and what action did they take? Basically in Nov I received a "sorry you are leaving" letter from Npower. This was news to me so I called and was told Sottish Power had requested a transfer???? I told Npower nope not me have not agreed nothing so they said they would dispute this transfer on…

Who is my supplier??? New build.
I moved into a brand new house in December. Paperwork from the builder showing initial meter readings seems to suggest that scottish power is the supplier. However I have contacted them and they say they are not the supplier. I've tried the website which lets you check who your supplier is but they have no record of my…

stopped meter and credit balance
Hi everyone, I tried to get a refund on a credit balance with eon and they asked me to give meter reading. They discovered my meter had stopped working and think this happened march 2011. I pay by direct debit and have a £1600 credit balance. They want to exchange my meter and investigate why it stopped working. Can I…

Any one used Spark Energy?
Hi all Just looked on u switch and to change from British Gas dual fuel it would appear that I can save 20% a year with this company, in second place was Scottish Power. You can't apply online though, and the bills come through the post whereas I am currently on monthly direct debit. I've never heard of Spark Energy - can…

Scottish power failing to transfer
My mother was on SP's Fixed Online Product January 2013. It ended on 31/12/12 and in November they sent an email with details of what would happen next. In late December she opted (via me) to use the link on the email to transfer to Fixed Online May 2014. A confirmatory screen was shown showing the transfer was actioned.…

First Utility issues
Hi all, I never posted on here before, and apologies if a tread on this already here, but I am having major issues with First Utility. (Be warned it's a long story!) I moved into a flat and had to go with FirstUtility until my provider could take over the gas and electric - no problem I was told. Anywhere they have been…

Moving house need advice please.
At the moment I am with EDF direct debit blue fixed tariff. New house has prepayment meters for gas and electric from BG. Do I go with BG ask them to change the meters and then change to EDF or tell EDF before I move that I want them to supply the new house and ask them to change the meters. Confused about this, just want…

Excessive Gas Usage.
For the past few years we have been paying, what I think, is an excessive amount for our gas and electricity. We live in a 3 bedroom ground floor flat and have gas central heating. Our current bill is £229 per month for dual fuel though EDF (£150 for gas and £79 for Electricity) Our usage is estimated at 5207 kWh per year…

EDF changed my tariff!
I noticed on a recent bill from EDF that they had changed my tariff from Online Saver to Standard Variable tariff. I was not informed that they were going to do this. I phoned their customer service number and was advised that yes they had changed my tariff as the original tariff was no longer on offer. I've raised a…

Elec usage up 25% last quarter!
Normally keep a spreadsheet for the last few years of elec usage. Obviously, gas is different because you use more for heating in the winter but I've found elec to be about the same. Apart from last quarter. Up 25%! Not happy. I guess in the winter you use lights more and xmas lights etc but never noticed it being more…

EDF failing to increase Direct Debit has led to debt
Does anyone have any experience of EDF failing to increase dual fuel direct debits and failing to communicate with the customer for more than two years? No requests for meter readings have been made, no communications including bills or statements have been received in this time so my friend incorrectly assumed the DD set…

British Gas Pre Payment Charges
I have just received a letter from a debt collection company saying that I owe £125 for an address that I lived in 3 years ago. I rang them up and explained that we had a pre payment meter in and they said that British Gas had been charging me the wrong tariff and now want this money back. I find this VERY strange and have…
