Gas meter stopped updating 2 months ago
I noticed the other day that my gas meter has been 'stuck' on the same reading since when it was last read by NPower back in November.
Since the end of Nov I've put the gas CH on, although a lot less than last year as it's been milder, and I've added some insulation to my property.
There's an engineer coming round next week to look at it, and the advisor on the phone said it's either the dial that's stuck (so internally the meter knows the correct reading), or it's broken completely.
Does anyone know what would happen if it's the latter? IE there's no way to know how much gas I've used and therefore they'd write it off? Or would they estimate my usage?

They are entitled to estimate usage. You can usually get it down quite a bit by being very frugal with the gas once they replace the meter.:footie:
