Thank you to British Gas

Might be a little unusual this one.

In October before the gas and elec price rises I moved to First Utility on a two year fixed deal. Turns out that they got the Gas meter number wrong and didn't bother to sort it out or tell me!

So anyway got a bill from British Gas this morning for the gas I have used and not paid for (have been paying the other lot)

Considering I am leaving them and they know it and I don't yet have the £160 they are after for the Gas they could not have been more helpful and understanding offering to go above and beyond what most companies would do by reissuing the bill with today's reading and delaying the bill to next week, explaining it takes 10 days to send out anyway.

They have also removed the account from the debit status it is in (not having received any payment from me for 3 months)

All of this they didn't have to do and could very easy have played hard with me.

Thank you British Gas its just such a shame you are some much more expensive that some of the others.

I presume you have been paying FU for the gas used since you Switched, (or thought you had), from BG.

The switch failure is more likely to be the fault of FU than BG, as they were the gaining supplier, but it still falls on you to sort it out

WRITE to BG advising them that you are quite happy to pay them for the gas, but are unable to till the monies you have already paid to FU for that same gas, are returned to you by FU
Then send FU copies of the bill from BG and your letter, asking them to return all the monies you have paid them for gas
