Dispute with Energy Company - Help
Well I find myself here as I dont know where else I can turn really. Im hoping some one here may be able to help. I am having problems with Scottish Power and its getting completely unbearable, which is understandable considering it has been going on for 7 years, started back in July 2005. After finally reporting Scottish…

Key and card meter for gas & electric
My fiance and I have just moved in to our new rented property. Upon moving in we discovered our electric and gas were key and card top up. How do people find this? Personally it doesn't bother me and I'd rather know where I am and be able to budget for it. My fiance has been on it before and doesn't like it, whereas I…

comparing costs on energy switching sites
I have entered my details on a few switching websites now, and each one comes up with NPower GoFix11 being the cheapest based on my annual consumption. They are not the cheapest by far for standing charge plus unit cost, but they make up for this for a £100+ discount if you go with them by direct debit for 12 months. The…

Economy 7 - which appliances use it, please?
Hi Can any expert inform me as to which electrical appliances "work" with Economy 7? I've been given different answers. Some say that ALL electricity use is charged at the lower rate during those 7 hours. Others say it's JUST the nighttime storage heaters and nighttime water cylinder heating that's included, pointing out…

LCS Debt
Hi There, I wondered if someone could give me some advice. I have a debt which has been passed to "LCS" of which I had an agreement to pay £10 PCM to pay this off. I've recently struggled to pay that so I sent an E-Mail to their support address advising them of my change of circumstances. I got not reply (classic!) and…

Remote wireless thermostat / controller
Any recommendations for a reliable / accurate one of the above please? Ideally looking for one that can be programmed separately for each day. Does the wiring of the "sender" to the boiler have to be done by a "real" electrician? Thanks

new boiler..no thank you
heres something to think about.. My gas bill came to £367 this year and my boiler is at least 35 years old. The energy trust says I could save 33 per cent of my gas bill per year if I got a new one. So that’s a saving of £121 a year. I got a quote for a new boiler and fitted for £1400. So after 12 years I would have paid…

British Gas:now phoning customers for meter readings
They have been emailing and texting customers for readings for quite a while now,but they ve gone one step further and started making unsolicitored phone calls for the quarterly readings ahead of the time that we (the meter readers) come to collect them. Thats fine but the call centres involved have no idea of the health…

E.on meter responsibility
[FONT="]I get my electricity from e.on. I have been keeping a reasonably close eye on meter readings as we had PV panels installed in December. I took an 'incoming' reading on 23 Jan and then again on 3rd Feb. When I again took it on 15th Feb, it was exactly the same as on the 3rd. The meter shows a continuous light…

Excessive Electricity Charges
I live in a block of flats where 2 flats share a communal hallway. Our electricity charges last year were typically less the £5 per year (we only switch the lights on when entering the hall and it automatically switches off after 1 minute). EDF energy has been charging us £2 for the electricity usage and a whopping £51 for…

Need to replace a combi boiler
Just bought a house and been told that by a plumber that the combi boiler (BRITONY COMBI BOILER CHAFFOTEAUX ET MAURY) needs replacing. It heats the radiators but there is no hot water. Think some of the pipes are rusted (I'm waiting on someone to come out and tell me exactly what needs doing) but other than that I think it…
