LCS Debt
Hi There,
I wondered if someone could give me some advice.
I have a debt which has been passed to "LCS" of which I had an agreement to pay £10 PCM to pay this off.
I've recently struggled to pay that so I sent an E-Mail to their support address advising them of my change of circumstances.
I got not reply (classic!) and instead received an E-Mail from a representative at 1st Locate Leeds who apparently seem to have some sort of connection to LCS.
I replied with my revised financial statement and received a rather blunt reply stating the Financial Statement must be from the CCCS or the Citizens Advice Bureau.
After this I received a "Default" notice from LCS rather annoyingly.
LCS themselves seemed to accept my Financial Statement, but they don't reply to my E-Mails.
Can these 1st Locate people refuse my own Financial Statement and demand it comes from CCCS or Citizens Advice Bureau?
Thanks in anticipation.
Kyle

Ultimately I suppose they can try & hassle you like this but equally you are under no obligation to talk to or deal with them in any way whatsoever. They have no court order do they?, they are not the baliffs and cannot enter your home without your consent or take your property, you don't owe them any money so what need have you to talk to them?
Your account & contract is with a supplier not them so if your offer is reasonable given your circumstances why not write to the supplier with your statement and offer and requesting their written response?
That said is there any particular reason you are reluctant to approach CAB, CCCS or similar? They may actually be able to advise you / lift some of the stresses from your shoulders.0 -
Hi Undaunted,
They don't have a Court Order, but I had an agreement to pay LCS £10 PCM. It's only since I've had to revise this offer that 1st Locate Leeds have gotten involved and made life difficult a bit.
I only owe British Gas £65 but I'm so stretched for money it's even difficult to try and pay that off.
I could go to the CCCS or CAB, but it's just another unnecessary and additional process they are trying to force me through even though every other DCA seems to accept my own written Financial Statement.
I replied back to the representative at 1st Locate questioning why my Financial Statement isn't sufficient and he/she swiftly changed the response to how I previously made payments etc so maybe I will make some progress.
Thanks for your kind assistance.

I'm not sure what your exact circumstances are obviously but if you are on benefits Fuel Direct may be a good means of getting them off your back. That would be a payment direct from benefits to supplier to cover your usage plus pay about £3.50 per week off your £65
Good luck0 -
Thanks for your help. I'll see how this goes0
