My Online 21 tariff will end shortly with Npower and after confirming my actual usage with Npower the Go Fix 11 Dual Fuel appears to be the best tariff and this is confirmed by Npower on the phone and by using a comparsion site. Npower have confirmed my annual cost will be £788 and a direct debit of £65 a month.Simply Switch confirms the same annual figure of £788 with a £40 cash back.I proceeded to load my details on to the site and it came to including my bank details the site identfied a payment of £74 a month which I calculate as £888 annual cost. Is the difference because of the cash back or any other reason. If I choose Simply Switch are there any pitfalls and how long would the process take to switch?

Thanks for any help

  • Two points:

    i) I'm not sure if moving to a different tariff with the same provider is counted as a switch.

ii) As a 'new' customer, they will be unsure of the accuracy of your usage so will set the DD higher to compensate 'in case' you use more than you state.
