Scottish Power Cashback - how long?

I switched to Scottishpower Online Energy Saver 17 dual fuel using Uswitch with 12 bottles of free wine plus Scottishpower were offering £80 cashback (direct from Scottishpower not Uswitch)

Switching completed at end of Jan, I've got the wine (very nice) but not seen any cashback yet from Scottishpower.
How long should this take?

Thanks
Chris

  • When I switched to Scottish Power through Topcashback, the cashback payment took around 4-5 months. If I remember correctly (it was 18 months ago), TCB had to wait for Scottish Power to pay them the money so it could be a while yet.

I am also expecting an £80 cashback from switching to Sc Pwr through Uswitch.

The switch was completed in mid January and as no cash back had appeared, earlier this week I e-mailed Uswitch politely enquiring as to when it is likely to arrive. The reply I received 24 hours later was:
    Dear Mr ****

    Re: Scottish Power Cash Back

Thank you for contacting us with your query following your recent energy switch.
The amount will be credited to your bank account 12-16 weeks after your supply going live.
It will appear as a BACS payment on your statement and will go in to the account associated with the direct debit details you provided at the time of your switch.

    Kind Regards,

I am therefore now expecting it sometime in April.
  • I had to contact Scottish Power regarding something else but I asked them when I called and they advised 6-8 weeks after the going live date which would mean for me in the next couple of weeks. I think I will send them an email anyway to clarify.

I have just contacted Uswitch too as that payment was due this week - 90 days after the application date, they do have a claim form though which you can fill in to clarify you have already gone live!

    Thanks

I'm also waiting for £80.00 cashback after switching through Energyhelpline. Got an email from Energyhelpline on 16/3/12 saying they had paid the cash into my bank account on 15/3/12. Still not arrived on the account. Had further email today saying switch payment of £15.00 will be in my bank in a few days. Really?????

I'm beginning to wonder if this is a con! Has anyone ever received their cashback?

I did it before via quidco, they will try and get out of payments.
Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.

We switched in January too (from a link on this site), cashback was paid just this week, but came from moneyexpert?

Hmm. I'm waiting for this too and don't appear to have anything in an email or anywhere else confirming that I'll get it. So I have no proof and presume they can just forget about it.

Considering they've just put my DD up by over 30 quid a month, I'm not too happy with them and will definitely be leaving when the contract is up.

I requested a switch (through USwitch) to Scottish Power at the end of Nov 2011 & the switch was actioned in January.
I heard nothing further about the £80 cashback until I emailed USwitch customer service a couple of weeks ago. I got a reply from them saying that the payment would be made soon. About a week later £80 turned up in my account from USwitch.
It may just be a coincidence that the payment was made so soon after my email, or it may be you need to prompt them to get it??

    Send them a reminder.
