"Switch Energy NOW" - should i really?
As Martins weekly e-mail says - "all big 6 now hiked prices, PERFECT time to check and switch." My question is, should we really swap, surely if the 'big 6' have upped their prices, surely everyone else is going to follow suit? so is there really any point in swapping?

Beatthatquote didn't sort out my energy switch!
Hi - Just wanted some advice - I did a switch for gas and electricity in August from EON to EDF fixed price to March 2014. I didn't hear anything but I had read that EDF are pretty slow so I didn't worry. However, I phoned them a couple of days ago and they had no record of me on their system. I got beatthatquote to…

Is our electricity bill too high?
That may sound like a stupid question, but I genuinely do not know... We are with Eon, we live in a small 2 bedroom flat (only one bedroom is used). It has no gas, so everything is electric. I am at work 9-5 in the week, my partner works fairly random shifts. We are in most evenings watching TV etc We are on Economy 7 with…

Switch now and pay cancellation fee or wait?
Hi, I am currently on the EON SaveOnline 4 Tariff, the contract ends in January 2012 and I would have to pay a cancellation fee of £30 if I switched now. Looking at the comparison sites, I can save £150 by switching to EDF Fixed S@ver 2 Dual Fuel. I’m just trying to work out if I should switch now and pay the cancellation…

Can I save with British Gas?
I have just joined British Gas EnergySmart for gas. They seem to have put me on a monthly fixed bill of £45. There is also an option the change to a variable monthly bill where I just pay for what I use. I don't think I use that much, what is the average monthly gas bill for a 2 bed flat? Would I save by changing to a…

Thumbs up to British Gas
A couple of months ago, I'd contacted British Gas by phone to register my Nectar Card with them. Today I checked my Nectar Statement and nothng was showing for BG so I rang them to query it. As I'm on pre-pay meters I had to ring 0800 107 0185 but calling that on a mobile was a no-no. I have an app on my phone which when…

Never done this before and I really don't understand the whole system for electricity! Am I best off entering a meter reading now, just before I ask for quotes on a fixed rate?

Am I really forced to accept wrong reading?
Having a nightmare transfering from Scottish Power to EDF, as others have. The current situation I am in is: Both have been switiched, and my SP Electric account has been closed no problem. However for my Gas account I gave both SP and EDF the same reading of 02170 on 1st September. I rang SP last week to ask why my Gas…

Only in flat for 6 months - worth changing supplier?
Hello, I move around quite a lot, and am usually in a place for 6-9 months. Currently I'm on a 6 month contract. Is it even worth looking at a cheaper gas/elec supplier, or may as well I just leave it to what it currently is (as I usually do). I'm not sure how long changes take to kick in, for example. Kind regards

Hi there, I’ve just bought a new flat and I’m trying to get my head around the heating system – want to make sure I test it before winter and don’t pay a bomb unnecessarily!
