Best Electricity Deals for New Homeowner
I'm about to move out and buy my first place, and I'm looking around for the best deals on everything. The only real snag I've hit is Electricity and (possibly) Water - there's no Gas in the apartment so I can ignore that. When I've tried to use the comparison sites and calculators they request current usage and/or current…

Meter not starting from zero
I just went online to check my gas bill and it is £323. The gas was installed 3rd June, and my husband and I moved in on the 18th (house was being decorated in between times, and I visited regularly and there was definitely no gas used). Now we are moved in, we just use the gas for hot water (so washing up and showers (as…

Choosing a fixed tarrif
Hi, I've just bought a new home and the current provider is EDF Energy. Firstly is anyone a current customer of EDF and has any opinions of them as a provider (they have already tried to charge me an extortionate amount for the overlapping dates when I bought the place until I phoned them to set them straight)? I have…

EDF Estimated Bill
A new low in unhelpful billing. We just received an EDF estimated electricity bill for the past quarter. Instead of the usual bill with a previous (real or estimated) reading and a current (real or estimated) reading, calculation, and an amount to pay, it simply says it estimates we owe them £x so pay up by 5th October or…

Npower
I'm an npower( standard tariff) customer already & have just gone on price comparison websites to check charges. Most of them put npower at the top of their list, but it's with a different tariff like winter cashback or sign online dual fuel 23. If I am an existing customer can I still use Top Cashback when I switch? I'm…

Scottish Power Postal Address for letter?
Hi. Can anyone give me an address to write to Scottish Power. It is not on their bills, their letters or their website as far as I can see. They wrote to me in August and said I had overpaid them by £185.70 and would refund me with a cheque in ten days, by 21 August. No cheque has arrived, so I have written them a letter…

Grants for boilers
I know most people know about Warm Front, but since the criteria has changed some people are not qualifying this time around. Turn2us as Martin recommends is a good site as is EST but I haven't seen Legionline mentioned on here. You only have to have been in the armed forces for a couple of weeks even if it was national…

Gas Servicing
Would anyone be able to give me an idea of how much a gas servicing will cost. I've been in my house for 3 years now and I've not had it done during this time. I know I need a gas safe engineer for this and I have a carbon monoxide monitor. Just think it's about time for a routine check before the winter sets in. Thanks :-)
