Eon - which Tariff is best??

Hi, please help... so confused!
My usage per annum (I believe - added together from Nov 10 statement to Aug 11 statement) is...
Electricity 4105 kwh
Gas 7187 kwh

I am currently on energyonline:
Electricity:
Normal units up to 900 kWhs per year - 25.5255 pence
Normal units - 13.2195 pence per kWh
Gas:
Normal units up to 2680 kWhs per year - 8.57325 pence
Normal units -3.7296 pence per kWh
With the following discounts:
Gas Discounts
6.00 % Direct Debit Discount
2.00 % Dual Fuel Direct Debit Discount
2.00 % Online Discount
Electricity Discounts
6.00 % Direct Debit Discount
2.00 % Dual Fuel Direct Debit Discount
2.00 % Online Discount

Should I switch to Saveonline 10?

Electricity:
Normal units up to 900 kWhs per year - 24.15 pence
Normal units - 11.5395 pence per kWh
Gas:
Normal units up to 2680 kWhs per year - 8.316 pence
Normal units - 3.50595 pence per kWh
Gas Discounts
6.00 % Direct Debit Discount
2.00 % Dual Fuel Direct Debit Discount
Electricity Discounts
6.00 % Direct Debit Discount
2.00 % Dual Fuel Direct Debit Discount

The unit charges are mostly margin cheaper, but am I better off with the additional 2% online elec discount?
Also, I collect clubcard points which are not available on the online saver 10 (I use these for merlin passes as we go to alton towers each year!).

Any advice gratefully received!

:p

You should do a comparison using uswitch through the links on MSE for 12 bottles of wine or Moneysupermarket for £30 cashback.

I'm on Energy online (after my super cheap online saver 2 ran out) and I'm switiching to EDF fixed as it's cheaper and it's fixed. The unit rates are much lower.

    EDIT -

I've plugged your usage in for you to uswitch (although it is postcode dependant) and get the following results:

    EDF
    Fixed S@ver 2 Dual Fuel
Gas unit rates: £75.592 Annual standing charge 3.52p per kWh
Electricity unit rates: £107.894 Annual standing charge 8.48p per kWh
    Annual bill: £729.10

    Save £205.31!!!

I think you should be switching now!
I am firmly across the line. I won't impose my values on you if you keep away from mine.

AngelsMadv, you are an absolute star! That is an absolute brill saving! off to compare properly - Thank you thank you!

    Switched! :T

Gone to scottish power energy saver 15 (cheapest bar npower in my area, and not a npower fan!). Saved c£189 plus £40 cashback for using simplyswitch (checked moneysupermarket and uswitch too as EDF did not appear on simplyswitch, but as scottish power was the better one on all stuck with simplyswitch for the greater cashback reward!!)

    thanks again AngelsMadv
  • I was on the EON EnergyOnline plan until Monday or Tuesday of this week when I switched to EON SaveOnline 9. It looks like this plan was replaced next day for EON SaveOnline 10 with much less favourable tariffs than 9. I guess EON must have had a good take up of 9 and were unable to sanction it any longer.

Price rise was 13th September. The E.On computer was gasping.

Have to say I feel like being stampeded into a corral. The way they arranged it, all the other E.On tariffs were ridiculously high, leaving SaveOnline 9 the only obvious choice. In movies, this is a standard tactic to drive you into a gorge, with archers on top, ready to finish you off. SaveOnline 10 feels like the pile of rubble released to block off our exit. Being on SaveOnline 9 means there is a £30 exit penalty if you leave E.On.

I wonder how many people are on SaveOnline 9 now?

But not if you "reject" a price increase and switch promptly.

Of course anybody who believes prices are on the way down is indeed scr*ed:D.

And also an Eon "guaranteed discount":( tariff is a slightly better place to be than an NPower both "guaranteed and deferred discount":( tariff.

Have your fun all you like.
It's my bet, If I lose, I lose.

Since FixOnline 8 finished on 1st July, I have been paying less than EDF Fixed Saver V2 on E.On SaveOnline 8. SaveOnline 9 is about £20 cheaper than Fixed Saver V2, so provided 9 doesn't go up this winter, I end up paying less than someone on Fixed Saver V2.

The last two price rises were February and September.
So if that's what they do again, this winter is sorted.

Besides, I don't exactly hear "I love EDF, you'll be happy with EDF." from you lot.
