We had a gas leak last night - and called the emergency number (0800 111 999) - the chap came out within an hour - tightened up a joint and left - no mention of any charges - will we receive a bill ?

    you will from the supplier for gas used if it was on the outlet side
    Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.

    I think they mean any volume of gas which has been counted by the meter and leaked will be charged for as gas used.

    However, there is no charge for any services provided by the emergency gas people such as call out or repairing the leak.

    Indeed. The Gas Emergency service in this country is one of the best. Where else can you be sure of prompt,free at point of use,expert attention 24/7 ?
    Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..

    I think I no the industry very well, been in it for over 10 years. And as others have said if it registers in the meter which it would if on the outlet it would be charged for the gas.

    Pity your spelling has not improved in that time;

    regardless of the spelling he is correct in that once gas passed through the meter it is registered and therefore will be charge for as technically it has been used. As to how much that of course is open to speculation and debate as hard to quantify amount lost due to leak. Other than comparing like for like on usage.
