Are these sites correct
Hi
This site and Government - almost saying we are too lazy/stupid to switch.
I did it once and was a pain becuase my metre wasn't registered - didn't exist despite me paying on that metre for over 30yrs!! Anyway was eventually sorted out got reg Num so next switch should be smoother.
Main point:
When using these comparisson sites I went to the trouble of adding all my bills consumption together - i.e. KWH/units for the year, This was before I realised they sent out annual summary of usage.
When the websites showed I could save upto £200, I looked at how they arrived at this figure and saw that the price per units on my tariff was more than I was actually paying - so their calc was wrong.
Can you trust these sites?

Trust them to tell you how much you will pay with your new supplier (assuming consumption does not change). In terms of how much you will save add last years bills together, but you need to bear in mind that they include any known price changes that are know about the tariff you are currently on. So if your tariff was ending in 3 months they have to guess what tariff you would move to with your current supplier.IT Consultant in the utilities industry specialising in the retail electricity market.

Also, the comparison sites include VAT in all the rates they quote, your bills wont include VAT on the unit rates, the comparison sites will also use the most up to date prices, your bills may be out of date and have the pre-price rise prices on them as they can be 3 months behind (6 if you have the misfortune of being with Npower)Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently!0

Put your figures into 'switchwithwhich' - This site shows all the prices in ascending order as usual, but has a 'tariff' icon which when pressed shows the fine details of that suppliers tariff, directy alongside those of your present supplier0
