Do E.On have an E10 tariff?
As subject. I have scoured the E.On website but can't find reference to it, so does anyone here - or better still an E.On rep, know if I can have E.On change my meter to an E10 tariff? I have a combination of electric heating and Air Source Heap Pump system, so would benefit from an off peak tariff such as this. E7 would…

e.co took money from us without authorisation.
We just moved our gas account from e.on to npower. We were somewhat in debit, around £300, which we knew we'd need to clear, but assumed that they would contact us with a view to paying that off when they issued their final bill. We were intending to put it on a 0% credit card and pay it off bit by bit. Instead they've…

British Gas "final" readings wrong
I have just applied to change gas/electricity suppliers and had a call last night from British Gas asking why I was leaving and did I want to stay. No, thank you, found someone cheaper. I then gave meter readings, now I paid my last quarter on 6nov both were only £35, so when the chap on the phone said that I am in credit…

Advice? New to GCH, White Meter, etc
Forgive me if this has be asked previously, but I read back about 10 pages and didn't see anything. I come from a place where everything is electric and you get one bill...easy (albeit at times expensive). This makes me completely inexperienced with GCH, boilers, white meter heating, double meters, etc. Could some one help…

NPower want to up my Direct Debit by......
£35 a month. We currently pay £50 a month and live in a one bed flat (all electric). We put the heating on in mid October (ancient under floor heating which only works in lounge and bedroom). NPower read our meter on 23rd November and the resulting bill showed that we were £6 odd in debt. Now I appreciate it may need to be…

When moving into a new property?
Firstly, sorry if this has been answered, I have had a mooch around to little avail and I'd love some of my smart fellow moneysavers to give me a hand here... We (myself, my partner and our friends, it's a student HMO) moved into this property in July. When we moved in we received a letter from N Power stating we were in…

EON Fix Online 4 - perhaps not the best deal for EON customers.
After reviewing my unit prices on the EON website there were a couple of better tariffs to beat my Energy Online V13 duel fuel. The Fix online 4 initially looks the best bet as it has a 14.2% online discount whereas the Save Online offers a 10.3%. Therefore Fix Online 4 would save me extra £48 a year based on a spend of…

British Gas - Should I switch?
Hi Wonder if you could give me your oppinions. I'm currently with Southern Electric for Electric and Britsh Gas for Gas. I was thinking of switching to British Gas as I'm not overjoyed with the service at Southern Electric They've been charging me £50 + every month for my electric! If you have British Gas what are your…

Comparing electricity usage of tumble dryers
Hi all John Lewis website lists the kWh per cycle of each of the tumble dryers they sell. Is it as simple as multiplier this number by the price per kWh to find out how much each use, on average, the tumble dryer will cost me? So for instance, 1.9kWh per cycle multiplied by 9.24p per kWh to get a one use cost of 17.55p? Is…

NPower
I have just had a visit from a sales rep for NPower, knocking the doors in our area, who told me that fuel prices are due to rise and that she wanted to sign me up to their 'new' capped duel fuel price with a lower unit price capped at 2.6 pence per unit compared to other providers 3.4 ? and that I would also qualify for a…

British Gas - Price Guarantee March 2011 - daft idea?
I've been on the British Gas price guarantee scheme which is due to end at the end of this month (December). British Gas have just written to me offering me a 'special opportunity' to switch to a new capped scheme starting immediately after this one expires. Here's the details... A guaranteed price for two winters -…

I am, need of help, my father passed away last year and while it has been hard for all the family we have tried to rally round and be there for my mum, however the other day i saw a letter she received saying she owes £600 for gas, when i asked her about this she said that she hadnt paid anything for 8 months as my dad…

Unusually high electric bill - advice required
Hi, today we have received our bill for electric (British Gas) for over £600! it states units used as 5836, which seems an awful lot, this bill in 2008 units used was 1460, and for 2007 units used was 1745. Now since our last bill we have had a new meter fitted as we were on a day and night rate meter, this was at the…

Baxi Bermuda BBU HE Any experiences?
Seeing the boiler 'scrappage' scheme announced has got me thinking about our old 1970's Baxi Bermuda which is still working OK but is probably rated 'E' or 'F' (so unlikely to qualify for 'scrappage'). It obviously won't last for ever and the amount of work to replace with a wall mounted condensing boiler somewhere would…

Large and incorrect bill from E.ON
Hi all, I moved into a new house 3 years ago. My first electric bill seemed very large and when I looked into it, realised that they had mixed up my day and night rates. I sent in new readings, but when the next bill arrived they were still the wrong way round. The upshot of this was that I didn't pay them anything for…

Gas useage
Im sorry if this is old hat but, I want to clarify a couple of points. If i read the digits on my gas meter (5 digit actaris metric meter) then subtract that from my previous reading this will give me units used. I then multiply this figure by 11 to give kwh which is how i am billed. Also the average house uses 21500 kwh…

£200 in credit should i claim it back?
I have just recieved my dual statement gas and elec bill from NPower and I am currently £215 in credit with them. My statement is from 10 june-1st dec. I pay by direct debit and got my last bill in July. On my last bill I was only about £30 in credit, but they then sent me a letter to say that they were reducing my…

EON and microgeneration
Would an EON rep please advise. I intend to install a 2kw solar pv system which will result in surplus energy going back to the grid. Please let me know whether EON currently buy back such electricity generated and the rate paid. If EON do not do this currently will they start when FITs commence.
