Im sorry if this is old hat but,
I want to clarify a couple of points. If i read the digits on my gas meter (5 digit actaris metric meter) then subtract that from my previous reading this will give me units used.
I then multiply this figure by 11 to give kwh which is how i am billed.
Also the average house uses 21500 kwh per year of gas is that correct.
I have used 450 units on meter. That is 4950 kwh over 6 months multiplyed by my tariff at the moment. (EDF Online 6)
Looks good unless i have made a mistake???
Thanks

Until I drastically upgraded my insulation I was using something like that. Now I might just be using 17500 kWh according to my future predicting spreadsheet.
Though I won't know exactly till next April.

Any body like to help.
Please.
Might be a sweetie in it for you.0 -
I used 9376 Kwh of gas over the last full 12 month period. That's for 2 of us in a 3 bed semi, gas cooking, and a gas combi CH boiler. So it looks like yours is about the same as mine.0

sorry confused post.
yes or no
take the reading of the meter subtract from previous read multiply by 11 and this is kwh used per time period.
multiply that by what i am charged and this gives me amount of money owed.0 -
Yes your calculations are OK, bear in mind that the heating season has only just started so you will be using a lot more gas over the current quarter. That gum you like is coming back in style.0

Correct. Multiply the cubic metre difference by about 11.25. That gives you the Kwh consumed over that period. If EDF v6 is a single tier tariff, you multiply the consumption by the cost per Kwh, and then add any service charges (if any). I'm on EDF v5 and that's a 2 tier tariff with no service charge.0

That is nothing like confuseddad's usage. Unless you mean cubic meters0
