Brit Gas Websaver 5 VS free electricity monitor
Hi, Iam looking at switiching from Npower as our provider of gas/electricity. the FREE new electricity meter looks to be beneficial, but its only avaailable on some tariffs. Uswitch say that British gas would be the cheapest provider compared to what we are paying now, but that is on their websaver 5 tariff. The estimated…

EDF Energy Are A Rip OFF
I moved into my new home on October 2009 annd found out that the house was pre-payment for both Electric and Gas and had to sign up to EDF Energy as they were supplying the property before I moved in. When I topped up I noticed that my gas was getting used really quickly in a week and was having to basically top my meter…

ScottishPower - Online Energy Saver 7 rate.
Can someone tell me where I can find the current rates for this tarrif? I understand they can change it and not tell you about it. The rate on the switch site seem to be at odds with the rate I found on the Scottish power site. I understand there is a Scottish Power rep here.

Deal ending THIS MONTH - when to switch?
My deal with British Gas ends at the end of this month - just over 3 weeks time. When is the earliest I can switch whilst guaranteeing the switch will not take place before 1 January 2010, to ensure I am not hit by me leaving a tariff which has penalties if I leave on or before 31 December? Thanks.

Southern are the most dishonest energy supplier...
I beg to differ from the post below that N Power are the most dishonest energy company... Following from my rant-ette last week about how I appear to have been conned by a whacking £476 final bill having left Southern recently to go to E-On, I thank my lucky stars that I've found my original meter readings from the day I…

NPower are the most dishonest utility
NPower Gas and Electricity Dual Fuel like to portray themselves as honest, moral fair and customer caring in their advertising but when Npower made a serious mistake and took my gas supply from another supplier without my permission, resulting in huge financial implications, I soon found out that NPower complaints dpt are…

Southern Electric.
I recently changed my supplier from Southern to Brit Gas. BG told me they would pass on the meter reading to Southern and I would get a final bill from them. When I did get the bill, the meter reading for the day use (up to Nov 14th)was more than the current reading today! The bill was for £22. I rang them and told them…

Not So Smart Meter!
The Government proposes having 47 million "smart meters" fitted in 26 million homes by 2020 at a cost of between £7 billion and £9 billion, or around £340 per household. The devices will save the average household only around£28 a year off a typical annual bill, so it will take 12 years to break even. The savings represent…

Are British Gas charging what they want all of a sudden?
Hi all, had a letter from the bank today with a returned d/d incurring a charge. We currently haven't got a spare bean as we have unemployment in the household. The bank letter says I've incurred a charge obviously but the amount was for £178, a figure I didn't recognise. Logged onto internet banking and saw the it was…

Confused
We've just had someone at the door who says they are from Scottish Hydro but dont actually work for them, they are contracted by the government to check to see if the energy companies are passing on some sort of discount, (something to do with them all being overseas now and the tax payments) and to see if we qualify for a…
