Switching problems
After I heard Martin shouting 'Switch, Switch, Switch' a few weeks ago, I was straight onto the site & managed to get onto Scottish Power's dual gas & electricity fixed rate tariff before it was withdrawn a few hours later. I was congratulating myself & everything seemed to be ok until last week when I received a letter…

New Home, New Bills, Advice please?
Hi, This could be a repeat of a previous question, but I've done a search and couldn't find anything so I'll ask again anyway! I'm just moving into a new house. Previously the bills were not in my name and I had no say in provider etc. Now I want to sort out the best/cheapest ones to use, of course. Most of the information…

Fixed Price Direct Debit... watch out for this gotcha
If your direct debit is refused for some reason the supplier may try to kick you off your fixed price deal straight on to their current 'normal' rate. I just had a heck of a time with Scottish Power over this (I stopped the payment because they were trying to take substantially more than they had agreed only two weeks…

Incorrect meter - can supplier charge retrospectively??
Over the course of several months it became clear that my direct debit payments for electricity useage in my rented flat were way over what I was using meaning that my account was in credit by several hundred pounds. On closer inspection I noticed that the LOW/ night time reading was not changing and called my supplier to…

EBICO question
Hi there, Electric with Ecotricity (which I'm happy with, even if they're not the cheapest) and gas currently with British Gas. This is obviously a loser and so we're looking to switch. All the price comparison tables tell me different things but it seems as though EBICO would be the best option for me. I am quite a newbie…

E-ON capping offer to 2010
Hi all - we got a letter from E-ON today offering their new prices to be capped at the following (below) until July 2010. About to switch suppliers and my meter reading is astronomical!
I'm mid switch from E.ON to British Gas for my electricity supplier and I've been asked to provide a meter reading to British Gas so my supply can be switched tomorrow. However, I've just looked at my meter and it has gone up from 12137 on 31st July to 13051 today which means I've used 914 units in a month! We've been here…

British Gas Click 5 Tariff
This is my first post!!! I just contacted Energyhelpline, and as I'm still on the Scottish/Southern standard tariff for Electric they advised me to switch to the Click 5 tariff with British Gas. I'd already done this with the gas, as had missed the good caps as was on holiday. Is this the best deal? At least til this price…
