Gas and Electricity/Standing Charge

I've been looking at various tariffs in order to try and change to a capped or fixed rate in light of the recent rises. Can you help?? Does it work out cheaper to have a tariff with a standing charge or without, as the prices per unit are sometimes lower with a standing charge!!! Hope this make sense?????

Different for different people, you can't answer that question simply!

If you were not in your property or used no gas or electricity for months at a time a product with no standing charge may be good for you, but that doesn't cover off all the possibilities.

You'd have to calculate it yourself based on your past use. Do 2 different calculations to show what would be better for you.

Many thanks, have done the two different calculations "now suffering from major brain ache" and have discovered the NSC tariff would be more beneficial.
