Hi, I recently signed up for the capped rate to 2009 (although 4 weeks have passed and I have heard nothing from british gas ,I'm already a customer on click energy4) so I would like to know like the O.P if the tariff is cheaper at the 2009 capped rate. shrewdal0

Here's my experience. Originally signed up to PPDec 2009 tariff then realised that the leccy rate is over 40% more than the (OK, pre-increase) Click 5 tariff, so rang BG and spoke to bloke in Retentions (I'm assuming these are the star performers who get moved here to retain people's business so I was happy to speak to him). He advised me to go back to Click 5 for leccy as even he was surprised at the premium over Click 5 but to stay on Gas for PP Dec 2009. Great. Err, no.
When I (eventually!) got the paperwork through it stated in the T&Cs that you can't just have Gas on PP Dec 2009 (but interestingly you can have the rip-off leccy!) and the gas tariff would revert to the standard rate! After doing my nut, I'm now (happily) back on Click 5 and will be back to my Quidco-cashback-switch-4-times-a-year strategy shortly and take my chance on the 'rises'. I *really* wouldn't feel entirely comfortable tying myself in with a company that appears so teminally incompetentCall me Carmine....
HAVE YOU SEEN QUENTIN'S CASHBACK CARD??0
