Duel Fuel DD Comparison

I'm just wondering what everyone else out their is paying. We are currently with Scottish Power on their Online Energy Saver 4 Tariff. They have just increased our monthly payments from £70.00 to £95.00 per months """AAARRRHHH" which is quite a jump. We are a family of 4, two adults a 8 and 4 years old. We live in a 3 bed semi, we have a combi boiler, cavity wall insulation and double glazing. Even loft insulation that is a lot thicker than recommended, so I can't understand why we are paying so much??? Are there any comparisons out there ?????

Everyone out there is paying for what they use ! If your supplier has upped your monthly DD he considers that your present payment isn't covering the energy you are using.
You should get quarterly statements from your supplier - these will tell you what you are using and whether your payments are sufficient.
It isn't a case of your monthly DD allowing you to use as much as you like !
  • After confronting Scottish Power with regards to their recent price increase, they have apparently "reassessed" our usage and our credit status on our account and have now reamended our new figure to £84.00 reducing it now by £11.00. I understand that prices are rising and I appreciate that I pay for what we use, but do they have to change your payments so drastically without contacting you first, especially when your account is in credit.

That why I don't pay by direct debit. I save mine each month and the pay the bill as it comes in quarterly. I take regular readings too so nothing is ever estimated.
