Hi - this is on behalf of my parents, who are classed as a small business by npower. They have recently come to the end of a 5 yr contract with them, and have now been moved to a significantly more costly tariff. They claim they were unaware of the change, but in any case they dispute the contract start date.... here are…

From quarterly to DD
Not wanting to change suppliers because of the possible aggravation. I have decided to contact my current ones BG and powergen/eon and change to monthly DD from quarterly paper bills. Now I know that I could save 2 -300 pound going the whole hog but what would be the best option available to me doing it my way. Read my own…

Massive first bill from nPower, am I right to query?
Hi, I recently received my first bill from nPower, £135 for a 40-day period. This is for a two-bedroom flat, no gas, boiler on all the time (might this be why its so high?), heating used for about 5 hrs a night I should think. The amount is based on an estimated reading for the move-in date but an actual reading for the…

Where can I find out the latest gas and/or electricity unit price?
Is there any site that lists the unit price for gas/electricity per region/company? Instead of spending ages looking through all the different products on price comparison sites.

Contacting British Gas - Is anybody out there?
Recently I had a red letter asking for payment of an invoice several months old. I guessed it was for the simple job of switching back on the gas supply following an annual gas inspection which noticed a missing knob from the cooker hob. After two months of asking for them to come back and return supply to hob they…

How many switches can I do?
I recently switched to Scottish Power cause they were cheap. Then within a month I switched to BG for the Quidco cashback. Now Scottish have put up £61 cashback on Quidco, so I'm going to switch back. My question is, how many times can I do this before I get blacklisted? Are they allowed to refuse to take me on, or do they…

Npower messed up my bill - but keep sending threats!
I'm having major problem with Npower. I moved into my property in March this year, and it had a pre-payment electric meter. The first thing I did was to get this meter replaced (which took months). The top up card had Npower on the front so I assumed that the electric was with them. They said they would replace the meter,…

Atlantic Electric has been running a kind of promotion. This is what they say on their website: "We are pleased to confirm that once you've been with us for a year, we'll give you an annual rebate and pay it automatically into your bank account. You needn’t make a claim or remember to do anything – simply leave it to us!*…

Should we be able to get interest back ?
Hi all, After being told by BGas that we needed to increase our payments at the start of the year as our direct debit wasn't enough, we find ourselves quite nicely in credit with the gas and slightly in credit with the electric having switched it to a standing order and TELLING them what we will pay them instead of them…
