hi, just a quick question, i have two lights on my electric meter that blink at me, i understand that the quicker they blink the more electric you are using. one light seams to be for heat the other for electric. im on economy 7
My question is, are the blinks quantifiable? i.e how many blinks are there in a unit? does anyone know? if my blinks happen once every 10-15 secs is this good or bad?
help please.
mike

Yes 1000 flashes equals 1 kWh. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -

Why would you want to monitor the blinks when you could use the red dial which makes up 1Kwh? Counting those blinks would be very time consuming and inaccurate.:rotfl: It's better to live 1 year as a tiger than a lifetime as a worm...but then, whoever heard of a wormskin rug!!!:rotfl:0

red dial? i dont recall seeing a red dial, i shall look in the morning. using the lights tho helps me to locate what appliance is burning the most electric0

Usually there will be a dial that spins quicker to make up 1 unit (Kwh) at a time. That dial will run to 9 and then turn the main reading 1 unit.
You could always opt for one of those energy measuring devices I guess if it's easier for you.:rotfl: It's better to live 1 year as a tiger than a lifetime as a worm...but then, whoever heard of a wormskin rug!!!:rotfl:0 -

The OP is talking about an electronic digital meter with no dials e.g. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -
