We the undersigned petition the Prime Minister to make gas
and electricity free for the millions of people in the UK who are
classified as living in 'fuel poverty'
In Britain today more than 2 million homes are living in what
is called Fuel Poverty. That is to say, the inhabitants spend
more than 10% of their incomes on fuel bills. Britain is one of
the world's richest countries, but this year more than 25,000
people, mostly seniors, are expected to die from cold-related
illnesses. We have to stop this by helping the most desperate
members of our society.

Errrmmm...no chance.
They are offering extras to help people in this situation.
I don't think I will be signing anything that is likely to help those who don't intend to work for a living to get free supply!!!
At least through a benefits system they can be means tested.
So, when the fuel poverty line rises because Suppliers put their charges up which start to bite at the people just over the 10% line, what do you do?
Cheaper gas & elec for all, not free!:rotfl: It's better to live 1 year as a tiger than a lifetime as a worm...but then, whoever heard of a wormskin rug!!!:rotfl:0 -
No chance, there should be more publicity for social tariffs which do not penalise those who use prepayment meters.
Equipower and Equigas is one example. That gum you like is coming back in style.0
