Just reviewing the gas supply, (currently with southern gas) and e-on has quoted us a little bit cheaper, and was wondering f anyone has had any first hand experience with them, (sometimes if it the customer services are terrible its not worth switching if theres hassle in the future/jus look for another supplier)

I googled it and searched on MSE but nothing came up. Thank you for any comments

    Hi pcyam,
i work for e.on so obviously im going to be a bit biased ;)

E.ON is the new name for Powergen, it's been the same thing for the last few years. if you search for powergen or e.on not e-on then you might get some better results.

It might be worth noting that in terms of Energywatch complaints, although not the best E.ON is one of the better companies. I'm sure other people on here, who don't have a biase will be able to give you a better opinion.

Definitely recommended. I swap gas and electricity providers on average every 3 months and e-on are very good at keeping you informed on their website as to where you are in the switching process. As with all switches keep a record of the final gas/electricity readings and make sure all final/first bills are the same readings. You get 1% back on Tesco so its also worth it for their online purchases. If they fall behind on tarrifs then switch again.

Personally I don't tend to let the complaints sway my opinion to much unless it's dire.

The reason being, these companies all experience the same complaints. The bigger ones do tend to be under more pressure making their service suffer at times.

My advice would be to try it and if you don't like it, swap a few months after.

Despite the Energywatch complaint league tables, the companies have many customers who never experience any problems but you won't ever hear of them.

Just take your readings when you switch, when you move home, when you have a meter removed and everytime you get a bill (and get your bill replaced to the readings)

If you do that, you won't go fair wrong with any of them.
