Powergen
Ok we currently pay DDto powergen for gas and elec. We are more than £100 in credit for the gas, what i want to know is, how likely is it that powergen will send us a cheque for £100 and let us carry on paying our £30pm dd? I will phone and ask but i just wanted to know if we have any right to do that?

Argggggggggh British Gas
I moved into our home 18 months ago. Our landlord changed the gas/electricity to BG just before we moved in (don't know why). Anyway BG came out and read both meters and off they went. Months passed and we received an elec bill (which we paid straightaway) but no gas bill. We phoned them, and they said they would sort it.…

Gas boiler
Hope i'm posting this in the right forum? I'm wanting to get my gas service looked at as I dont think its working as great as it should and i'd also like to get the boiler insured. I've looked at the british gas reviews for homecare and they seem to be pretty awful. Anyone able to recommend a company? I'm in Renfrewshire…

British Gas
Quick question for the experts on here. My dad got his first bill in 12 months from british gas a couple of months ago, this was brought about by BG not sending him bills after the meter had been read, Four weeks ago they came out and read his meter again, but as yet he still hasn't recieved a bill again, obviously he…

Britisg Gas Price Cuts and Estimated Readings
Can anyone fathom out how British Gas calculate estimated bills and daily usage when there have been price decreases during the billing period? I received my (estimated) British Gas bill recently and during this quarter there have been two price decreases. They estimated my energy usage as: 131 kWh/day from 14 Feb to 12…

1500 (Gas) units in 2 weeks - Oh Snap!
Hi all, I recently decided to start tracking my gas usage to try and see if I could save money by being more frugal. My meter was last read by British Gas on 19th April. I read it myself on 29th May and then again yesterday 11th June. Here are the readings, in units: 19 April: 2937 29 May: 3020 11 June: 4517 units per day…

Edf
I've just received a formal demand from a debt collection agency on behalf of EDF who used to supply our gas. We changed to NPower on 9th may 2006 and have been with them ever since. Out of the blue I received a final bill from EDF almost a year later on the 28th Feb 2007 for £141.06. I have absolutely no recollection of…

British Gas - another frustrated rant
 We moved into our new house in February - the previous residents had used British Gas but we wanted to keep the same supplier we had previously used. So on taking the meter readings I wrote to the new supplier providing them with this information and tried to ring BG to inform them that we were not using them as we…

Gas/elec back
British Gas threatened to break in to my property to cut off the supply if I did not pay them. I was not living in the property so I paid them as I obviously didn't want them to do that, but simply couldn't get hold of them. I owed them no money and actually sold the house, but still they sent more bills demanding more…

How do I read my gas meter?
I gave British Gas my meter readings today to request a bill. As usual their billing system was down so they couldn't tell me how much I owe. The guy said it was 4.6p per unit. How many units have I used? The meter reading has increased by 426 since moving in. So if I have used 426 ubic feet since I moved in January and…

Moving- how do I know who's cheapest?
Me and the OH are moving in together on the 25th. When we read the meters on that day, should we just call the people they are already with (British Gas) or start with somebody else? I am in rented and he is at home so we don't want to move our current supplier or any of that. I know about the comparison sights, but how do…

cheapest 2nd electric meter?
I'm considering spliting the electricity supply in my house so a separately billed supply runs into the granny annex. The installation should be reasonably easy as the current meter is located near to the granny annex. Are there any differences in price between the electricity companies when it comes to getting a 2nd…

Savings vs Tesco Clubcard Points
Hi all, Looking for some impartial advice from fellow Moneysavers... I'm thinking of changing my gas & elec from Npower. We have used £350 of gas & £564 of electricity over the last year, so we have a benchmark on which to compare Npower against the others. I can... 1. Change to Scottish Power, save £152 annually & get £30…

Need help with NPower debt!
Last year when I moved into our olf flat, we were signed up with NPower. I set up a DD for £30 and they said it would be enough each month. Fast forward to when we move out, and get an outstanding balance. They gave us 3 different ones, which kept going up. We're trying to pay them off, but can't afford £90 a month. They…

StayWarm UK Power Comparison
Has anyone tried UK Power's comparison website for comparing Staywarm usage to other tariffs? For some reason the tool doesn't allow me to compare Staywarm electricity usage and brings up an error message asking for an input for gas usage. My usage is for electricity only. Has anyone else had problems comparing Staywarm on…
