just moved in

hiya, we have just moved in to our new house, we are wanting to switch to a pepeyment meter.
will it cost us to do so? and any1 got any good companys?
savings for 2012.. New year new me.. Going to save save save... and not spend spend spend. :rotfl:

    You need to register with the current supplier, even if you are planning to change companies/meters. Make sure you give them meter readings as well.

    Most companies will fit a prepayment meter free of charge.
  • I cannot recommend strongly enough that you do not switch to a prepayment meter! I did about 10 months ago with british gas and have regretted it ever since. I have had such a nightmare about it that in the end i resorted to setting up a petition to the prime minister about their ineptitude. It is very often more expensive to do it that way, direct debit is cheaper by my understanding. After a year of battling, which I won't bore you with, I evenmtually got them to come and remove the blasted thing.

    im on a pepayment meter now, and i find it so much easyr, it 2 lest bills to worry about at the end on the month. i have been with british gas and did find them taking loads of money compered with npower (who i was with in old house)
