Edf

I've just received a formal demand from a debt collection agency on behalf of EDF who used to supply our gas. We changed to NPower on 9th may 2006 and have been with them ever since. Out of the blue I received a final bill from EDF almost a year later on the 28th Feb 2007 for £141.06. I have absolutely no recollection of this amount outstanding (we were on a DD)and am sure I would have settled any outstanding bill once we changed supplier. Therefore I assumed it was an error and took it no further. I have now received a formal demand from a debt collection agency on behalf of EDF. Can they still bill me after all this time. Any advice much appreciated

They can back bill you up to two years from the date the bill is issued(although this drops to 1 year in a couple of months).

Have you tried getting in touch with them to find out where the bill came from?
