cheapest 2nd electric meter?

I'm considering spliting the electricity supply in my house so a separately billed supply runs into the granny annex. The installation should be reasonably easy as the current meter is located near to the granny annex. Are there any differences in price between the electricity companies when it comes to getting a 2nd electricity meter & supply installed?

The installation would be done by the local distributor, so it is unlikely there would be a price difference between companies - most would probably just tell you to contact them direct.0

One disadvantage if separately billed is that you will pay extra for the first 900 units pa at 'tier1' rates - or a second daily charge.
It might be cheaper to install a 'private' metering system such as some landlords with bedsits use.0 -
just make sure you choose a supplier who can bill accurately for 2 meters. Preferably 2 separate bills.
Still have an ongoing problem(since lst July) with BG who changed one meter and have been unable to bill accurately since then, and now even say(and MPAS) that only one meter at property.0
