Disputing a final meter reading
Hi We got our final Gas bill, due to switching, and i am pretty sure the final meter reading is wrong. They say that on the 27th Feb, it was 5951, but i noted the meter reading on 1st March and it was 5934. Although, they (not sure if its Scottish Power - old siuppliers, or London Energy - new suppliers) say that their…

Be careful using Uswitch!
About 6 months ago I looked at various energy cost comparison services and finally settled on Uswitch. After meticulous analysis, I switched from Powergen to EDF which was showing a saving of about £100 p.a. The following day, I thought that I had better check that the rates quoted in the comparison which were used as the…

Moved to Equigas.
Have moved fom Powergen Age Concern to Equigas/Equipower. Apparently Equ. also have an over 60's or over 65's system called Careline. Have yet to get full details, perhaps it's just for their records, rather than something cheaper. Does anyone know more??

british gas and new dd amount
We moved into our house in august of last year, BG set our gas dd at £25 for the month. We have just today received a letter from them advising that our new dd is going up to £52 a month, I have just rang and they have advised that we have been using £32 worth of gas a month. Obviously this is over winter so the amount of…

Gas & Electric Both In Credit - Should I Ask For The Money?
Hi :hello: Sorry if there is a thread for this kind of query already but I looked through quite a few pages and couldn't see one. After a week or so on this site and forum I've finally plucked up the courage to see if I can save money on my Gas & Leccy. Cue: pulling all the bills out and trying to make sense of them…

Do Simplyswitch ever pay cashback owed
I switched my gas and elec to two separate suppliers through Simplyswitch. That was back in December but still no cashback despite phone calls and emails to them. Anyone else had problems? or have advice.

Send in your own meter reading now.
Now that the prices are set to rise again...I suppose it would be wise to give a correct reading as opposed to an estimate as soon as possible. If the estimated reading is a lot lower than the actual reading, you could end up paying the higher prices on the balance when the next bill comes in  anyone agree…

Economy 7 and Direct Debit mix up!
We've had a lot of hassle with our gas and electric provider Scottish Power. First off they didn't take our Direct Debit for a year (as we didn't notice, we ended up having to pay double for the following year) and now I've just realised our Economy 7 meter rates are mixed up. It seems we've been paying the night rate…

Gas/Electric prices
Hi , I have dual fuel from Seeboard Energy and have over the past year been paying £17.00 per month for gas and £11.00 per month for electric, which as I live on my own seems a reasonable amount. I keep a close eye on the bills as they come in and can give my meter reading online. I have found that if my bills start going…

Scary gas bill
I have just phoned in my gas meter reading and after doing the sums reckon the bill for the quarter Dec - March will be around £400. I know that my monthly direct debit for the past three months will not nearly cover this (even though it was increased a while ago), so do you think they will demand full payment or put my…

Are computers heavy on watts?
Hi Our last leccy bill from around Oct 05 to Jan 06 was very much higher than normal for similar months, mainly due to increase in use. We checked with the company who said that if its estimated one month, the following will be actual so the figures would be pretty close to the mark and correct. Other than getting a few…

Cheaper kwh or yearly £63 discount?
hi, just put my details in uswitch and energy helpline and apparently london electric will save me £200/yr on my electric and gas bills. However Npower sign on-line would save me approx £150/yr. Npower offer £63 discount for taking out both electric and gas- is this included in the £150 saving or not does anyone know?…

Am I getting screwed for gas on a pre-payment meter?
Has anyone any experience with haggling for better rates when you are a pre-payment customer with a card meter? We've still got one as a left over from sorting ourselves out a few years ago, and largely find it quite a convenient way to budget for paying and no sudden big surprises in the post so haven't wanted to change…

who is better than my current supplier ?
I am currently with British Gas and received an emai stating the tariffs charged. gas Tier 1 (per kWh) 3.277 Tier 2 (per kWh) 2.431 Tier 1 applies to the first 1,143 kWh per quarter and Tier 2 applies to all consumption from 1,144 kWh up to 73,269 kWh (consumption over this amount would not be classed as domestic usage).…

Moving House in a few months - is it still worth changing?
According the to websites I checked I could save about 33% if I change my Gas & electric. However, I'm putting the house up for sale and expect to move in a few months time. If I change I'm worried about being tied to a contract for 12 months and if there could be hidden clauses etc. if I move. Will this be the case?…
