Hi, I'm new and was wondering if anybody had any tips, basically I need to move out, I have about £3,000 worth of debt and a poor credit rating due to how much credit is available to me (I cancelled all accounts open and not being used yesterday and lowered my credit limit on things still to pay off) I have a few late…

is it possible to get my default removed
for the first time in about 7 yrs i have checked my credit report today. the main reason was because i was aware of a couple of debts becoming statute barred recently and i was keen to know if they were off my record, i was surprised to find they were gone completely. i did however see a default on my account for an unpaid…

Psycho.....?
Hi everyone. This is my first post, though I've followed this site for a number of years. I'm continually awed by the excellent, free and courteous advice on offer -thanks. I'm in chronic, rather than critical, debt - in other words, nothing (hopefully) is about to go seriously pear shaped but a large proportion of…

1st flat. Can I afford it?
After tax I pocket £840 per month. I have a motorcycle which is 80mpg. insurance and tax not due for another year (£220) it is mechanically sound. So I want to rent a flat. I have been looking at flats for around £500 which are within 2 miles of work. I think I can afford this but maybe I am under estimating how much it…

Best way to clear overdraft
Hi all We have a Natwest overdraft of £3,000. We now bank elsewhere. We are just under the agreed overdraft limit. Our spare income after expenses is around £500 a month. Would the best way to clear this overdraft just be to pay something to it each month? I don't like the idea of getting it down to say £2000 and then…

What Should I do with this Cheque from CCCS?
I have recently, last month finally cleared my debts. It has taken 6 years and the help of the CCCS. At the outset I closed my bank account on their advice and opened a new basic account which later became a full current account. About 6 months ago I opened a new account with a new bank so I could have a fresh start with…

Saturday/Sunday 29th/30th October 2011 - What small DFW things will you do today?
When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym. But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when…

Statute barred debt & Default reporting to CRA's
I have an old debt from a credit card that was originally defaulted on in 2004, so I know that any default on my credit report would have dropped off in 2010. I have received a letter from a debt collector (Robinson Way) stating they know who I am and that I live at my address so I must know that this debt exists and…

Obtaining Credit Report
Hi, apologies in advance as I assume this has already been covered many times, but I am looking for some advice on how best to obtain a detailed credit report. need help trying to remove an unfair ccj
Hi, I was divorced in 2007 and my then solicitor billed me £13.5k final costs. I disputed the final costs as my former husband cut off maintenance payments during some of the proceedings and I went without these payments for several months. I asked the solicitor to take this amount off the final bill and offered him £6k in…
