  • Hi Charityworker :D

Hope you don't mind if I make a wee suggestion :) - I'd redo your SOA in the "mse format" http://www.makesenseofcards.com/soacalc.html as it'll be a lot easier to see if there's anything missing and for others to be able to see if there's any obvious savings anywhere.

You should just have to complete it and then post it.(I think!)
If you've nothing decent to say, perhaps you shouldn't say anything.

We receive working tax credit, child tax credit, housing benefit and council tax benefit. My husband was told he could sign on but he would not receive any money but would still be expected to take part in all their schemes which he hates.

The lone repayment is £241.00 a month. The original post I put the site fees in with it which in my mind is the same thing as it's all about the caravan.
  • My husband was told he could sign on but he would not receive any money .

Thats shocking do they expect him to live on fresh air

another thing i noticed ....no child benefit?? x

  • the only i could really say is the caravan and site fees are costing over a 3rd of our useable income... (minus the housing benefit and council tax benefit) thats a lot really....do you use it often?
On the road to financial freedom.... one MSE penny at a time....:T
  • Oh thanks. I forgot the child benefit. That's £134 ish a month. Not very good at this am I? Yeh I know the caravan costs a lot. I bought it 2 years ago when the finances were a lot better than they are now. I could sell it but I probably wouldn't get as much as I paid for it as it's like a car = goes down in value instead of up. And yes we do use it quite a lot. Every weekend and in the school hols.

The other option is to let it out for holidays. I've never looked deep into it but I bet it affects your benefit.
