The lone repayment is £241.00 a month. The original post I put the site fees in with it which in my mind is the same thing as it's all about the caravan.
Re JSA. He should check that he is not missing his NI contributions by opting out as that would a good reason to pitch up every 2 weeks. Of course he may not be entitled to Jsa with a wage coming in, small as it is, it is topped up. Earners are expected to support their partners according to the government. I really think you should
double check his entitlement and any possible consequences of opting out.0 -
How about increasing your income, I know some benefits might be cut but then at least you have the prospect of earning more in the future? Does your husband not work due to a medical reason or is there something he could do?
No my husband has just been made redundant. He's been applying for loads of jobs and been for a few interviews but no luck as yet. He has managerial experience in retail and has sent his cv to EVERY shop in the town centre but got no reply. He's not even looking for manager work, anything will do. His last job was a cleaner.0 -
what a nightmare for you, I really hope he finds something soon...it happened to us a few years ago and was v hard, especially for the kids

How old are your teenages? Your benefits will drop massively when they leave further education so if that is soon then it's worth doing an "after" SOAs so you are prepared.
Also, the £130 for food, does that include everyones lunches, snacks, etc?
Do none of you spend anything on haircuts and really only £120 on xmas for the four of you?0 -
Can you sub-let the caravan? I know some sites let you do this - is it a static van?DMP 2021-2024: £30,668 £0 🥳

My 2 girls are 17 and 14. The 17 year old is on the first year of a 2 year full time college course. The 14 year old is still at school and wants to go to college when it ends.
Yes the £130 includes all lunches and snacks.
When I first left school I worked as a hairdresser so I do everyones hair. I've got long hair so I don't have it cut very often and when I do I do my own!
£130 for Xmas is right too. I save boots points for a year from phone credit. I had £60 of points I spent on Xmas presents last week in their buy 2 get 1 free sale. So I ended up getting about £100 worth of presents for free. Those were the presents for family and work colleagues. I will give my children £50 each as they prefer to have the money to buy what they like and me and my husband will just buy each other something small.0 -

You can't just let a caravan out, first you need to check if your site allows it, you need an uptodate gas cert to say your boiler is okay. You will need a different caravan insurance then the one you have The beding and eating equipment needs to be of a certian standard. Selling your caravan may not be an option too, a static value drop very qickley from new so selling it may not cover any outstanding loans on it.0
