complicated question...
My OH has about £10K worth of debt which is in the middle of arranging a DMP with CCCS. He's been charged unbelievable amounts of late payment charges and interest by all 3 credit cards (which is actually the reason that his debt has not gone down at all in the last 10 months even though he's paid about £3000!). My…

Costs of Things Using Electricity
I wondered if anyone had an up to date idea of how much things cost to run? I used to have a great list (can't remember where I got it from now though - d'oh) which outlined approximately how much it cost to run things for an hour or per use i.e. tv for an hour or a washing machine per load, a kettle per boil etc etc etc.…

Blimey - something good happened
Postie came this morning, armed with a bunch of junk as usual - one of them was from Inland Revenue - boo hiss I cried. Opened it up - it was a tax rebate cheque for 200 big ones, I apparently overpaid in 2004! How lovely! And that's nearly half what I'll need if the valuer suggests replacing my carpets tomorrow. :T

Just to keep me motivated - here are the things I have done since posting my SOA in July: 1. Cancelled Lensplan - saving £27.50 a month. I have enough lenses left to last me 3 months and enough solutions for a year (!). Lenses will cost me about £12 a month after that via the web with additional cash back via Quidco. So…

Debt repayment vs savings
I've been on this forum for quite a while, but this is the first time I've bared my soul and posted my SOA, so please be gentle with me! :) I would like some advice on paying back my credit card vs saving... Bloody CapQuest.
I'd posted previously about my trouble with CQ - basically, I spoke to CAB who agreed I was paying them far too much pro-rata. So they got me to write to them to say that I had over stretched myself, and shortly with their assistance I would offer them a revised amount each month. I included a token payment of £50 (I have…
