Well i have just had a call off Capital One and thought that it had to be posted on here!!!
The man starts by saying you are £100 over on your visa and havnt made a payment i said yes, he then says you have also sent in a letter re charges to which i said yes.
He says well we have refunded £40 and your not happy with that, i said No! he sad "How much dya want?" (not very professional!) and i said "the amount on the letter, all of the charges u have charged me over the last 3 months which is £140" to which he replied "well i dont think we can do that!"
I laughed and said ok well iv sent another letter (LBA) just see what happens and he says " well we need some sort of payment off you"
i say "well when i have my charges back then you will have some payment!"
he put the phone down and did not sound happy!!! was i wrong 2 do this? xLolx:T

no stick to your guns hun, i have had enough of banks/credit cards putting charges on accounts, i havent got any so i love egging on people that have some, go for it girl, bully for capital one, they were big enough to put charges on your account then they are big enough to take what you have to throw at them :T0 -

you did right! The thing is - they don't expect a comeback from you when they call - and it throws them when you challenge them - to be fair it is not the fault of the poor sap on the phone -lets face it who would want their job? I advise perfecting the hollow laugh - har har in a sorrowful tone when they ask for a ridiculous payment..and say well if only I could afford that .....but unfortunately....in any event the key is to take control of the conversation -you could tell them your circumstances and ask them what they advise...just make sure you keep the upper hand. Those phone calls are all about psychology as I am sure their training emphasises - take them on!

Well done make sure you pay the account off once they've refunded you and close the account. The interest rates they charge people are disgusting.Barclaycard 3800

Capitol one sent me a homeowner loan letter the other day, trying to get me to apply - I sent it back with a note written on it, asking why I should apply when they declined me a credit card last year.
I did call them a few months ago asking the same question, and all I got was that I was on the mailing list.0
