Buying a car on a DMP
Hello, My partner is on a DMP through the CCCS and has been for the last 3 years, with 4 years remaining. He wants to buy a car and would probably need to take out a loan to top up what he's saved. I guess this isn't possible at all is it? For how long after a DMP is your credit in a bad state?

how to pay more money off our loan
Recently I got a letter off the student loan company. The amount I owe is going up by about £250 per year! My husband has an even higher loan so his interest would be even more. Now I know the interest is relatively low, but with my reckoning we will be paying our loans off until we retire and beyond! When we get 'proper'…

How do I help my friend?
To cut a long story short my friend has got herself into £70k of debt over the last 8 years. She is a full time mum to 4 children and her husband earns around £30k per year. Their house has increased in value over the last 8 years, so some of the debt has been added on to the mortgage. They also have a secured loan. After…

Has Anyone Sold Up Then Rented To Pay Debts
Hi We are seriously considering selling our house and moving to a cheaper area to rent with no debts left. Has anyone else done this and then gone on to get a mortgage a few years later once their credit rating has recovered ? We hate the way the town is increasingly populated by teenage yobs and their baby mums. Having…

The ridiculous lies baliffs tell! (Capquest anyone?)
Right, I got a letter from 'Capquest on behalf of HL Legal' asking for £306 (and if I didn't reply in 7 days, £100 in legal fees). I didn't reply for almost 3 weeks as I was on holiday for a week, then I spoke to my solicitor. The debt is the result of a girl I used to know going into the branch, pretending to be me, and…

Not sure i've done the right thing, secured loan
We decided that we didnt want to move house and leave the property ladder, so we have taken out a secure loan, we know that means we pay less each month but over more years but are hoping that in 5 years time with extra payments to our mortgage we will be able to remortgage and become debt free that way. I'm wondering if…

OMG - Ive just been sent to DEBTORS PRISON.
Well... Most know my issues and struggles and we are at the end and unfortunatley are filing for Bankruptcy. Some one has posted on my diary that they possibly should bring back debtors prisons... They were abolished in the 1700's... No idea why he is looking at a debt board, perhaps he is the debt police, or works for…
