Hi,
Just trying to get my finances into order, i was just wondering if anyone can give me a rough idea of how much i should budget for food?
Its only myself and my other half. We're also hoping to start taking packed lunches to work as well.
I know everyones different but i just need a 'rough' idea.
Thanks :T

I seem to rmember that its reasonable for 25 quid per person per week..... however this is easy. Thats including toiletries and cleaning stuff.
I have it down to under 80, with many meals for two.0 -
I base mine on the figures given by the National Debtline. According to them, the figures are:
Weekly housekeeping budget
Single person £35 to £45
Couple £60 to £75
Each child £20 to £35
Non-dependant £20 to £35
Monthly housekeeping budget
Single person £152 to £195
Couple £260 to £325
Each child £87 to £152
Non-dependant £87 to £152
This is not only for food, but for cleaning and toiletries etc.DMP mutual support number 174Total debt now (April 10) £0! - total paid off £30,221 or 100%I'm now debt free after 6 years!!:jNon smoker since June 2006 :j0 -
For two adults who like there food I budget £100 per month but spend between £60 and the £100 amount.
I tack on another £10 for loo rolls/washing powder etc. Shower gel/ shampoo tends to be bought with own money for some unknow reason. Oh yes I know why because I get free boots vouchers so it cost me nothing to buy thge goodies there.
