I'd posted previously about my trouble with CQ - basically, I spoke to CAB who agreed I was paying them far too much pro-rata. So they got me to write to them to say that I had over stretched myself, and shortly with their assistance I would offer them a revised amount each month. I included a token payment of £50 (I have been paying them £250 for the past 12+ months). I have had no response from them at all to the letter, i've just had two threatening legal actions from a fake solicitors firm (who happen to have the same address and phone number!). They are ringing me each day, and really, I want to sort this out via letter, i'm not being threatened over the phone by their 'litigation managers', expecially whilst at work.
What should I do seeing as they haven't even acknowledged my letter.

Get back to the adviser from the CAB, explain that you're getting these phone calls and your letter hasn't been acknowledged. When they call advise them that you have written to them and ask that they respond by post.
Ultimately, if this was to end up in court, the judge would recognise that you have made an attempt to pay and resolve the issue and this would go against CQ.

Indeed. These people are just bar stewards who seem to get off by harrassing vulnerable people. What I do in these cases is just put the reciever down and go about my business until they go away.[strike]-£20,000[/strike] 0!0
