Hi, first time poster, please be gentle! Not quite ready to post a SOA yet but I have downloaded a copy of Martin's budget planner so that I can try to work out this weekend why, on an ok salary, I never have any money! I basically have 2 debts: Capital One CC: £1000 (maxed) Halifax Classic CC: £14000 (maxed) I have never…

My first post about me and my debt!
I've been browsing this site for a while now and now, thanks to all of you, I feel confident and inspired enough to post with my situation. Sorry if this is a little self indulgent but I'm thinking that by making my debt situation public I will just have to confront it rather than hide away from it. I've just sat down and…

Just wanted to boast about how much of a high I am on today about moneysaving. Been a bit slack of late after having to change our car, along with associated costs (tax/insurance etc) I feel I'm getting back on top. Although I don't think I've truely had my lightbulb moment yet I do think I am making better financial…

Take Care with Experian's "FREE" Trial
After reading about credit files in Martin's weekly email (21 March), I applied to creditexpert.co.uk (Experian) for a 30-day free trial. You have to provide your bank details so that if you haven't cancelled when the 30-day trial is up, you get charged £5.99 per month. I'm always a bit wary about doing this but thought a…

Hi everyone I've been browsing through the forums for a couple of months now and the advice on here has been invaluable. I'm not what I would consider massively in debt, but I do have a personal loan of approx £8,900 to pay off. This is due to refinancing my graduate loan a couple of months ago (I'm now 31!) because I'd…

Natwest
My fiance currently has a £500 overdraft with Natwest which will be paid off through CCCS. However I am concerned that they will withdraw the overdraft, then try and take money out the Joint Account and then try to take money out of my personal account (because we are financially linked through the Joint Account) I just…
