Natwest

My fiance currently has a £500 overdraft with Natwest which will be paid off through CCCS.
However I am concerned that they will withdraw the overdraft, then try and take money out the Joint Account and then try to take money out of my personal account (because we are financially linked through the Joint Account) I just need reassurance that they won't do that

However, we are trying our best to get away from Natwest as we have experienced very poor customer service over the past few months, including a member of staff swearing at me (uncalled for). We are both in the process of setting up a separate account and a joint account with another bank, I just need to move my ISA away from Natwest and try to find a Credit Card to balance transfer my Visa to. Any advice here would be appreciated

i was told by ccs that any acounts with my oh name on they would try and reclaim their funds from there so if they want to they will take it from your joint acount as it has his name on it they shouldnt be able to take it from acounts soley in your name though as its not your debt so i would take all money from natwest jiont acount close it and open another acount somewhere else where they cant take iti cant slow down i wont be waiting for you i cant stop now because im dancing0

they can take the money from any account in the same name as the debtor, although they may choose not to do this.
Try the co op bank they are pretty good and you should look at changing your accounts to financial institutions with whom you don't have debts that are going into a DMP.

If you have any really problems with Natwest its going to be tough to speak to the lending department as I assume you will be debt managed. This means that Natwest have placed a code on your account and so only the debt manager's can speak to you regarding lending issues such as your overdraft etc.
Also regarding complaints I would ask to speak to the customer care team, there normally very helpful if you get through to the right person. They are in the office I believe until 16:00 today if that hasn't changed since I left. Unfortunately there's little that can be done over the weekend as they would have to liaise with other departments regarding your complaint which wont be in the office until Tuesday however they do have a duty to deal with complaints very quickly.Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no. 0650 -
I know that Halifax will help themselves to any other account that you have with them whether it is a joint account or not - don't know if NatWest have same policy.JUST DO IT ONE BRICK AT A TIMEPROUD TO BE DEALING WITH MY DEBTSWeekly Budget: groceries£50/petrol£50/Unnecesary£15DEBT PAID = 58% (£4,212/£8216):T0

But.. just noticed your GE debt of £700 odd - if you have an ISA (a cash ISA I presume?), why not use some of those funds to pay off the GE debt? How much is in your ISA and what do you intend to use that for?
Thanks!0 -

My ISA is for money to pay off my wedding which is in August which I have saved for, as I didn't want the wedding to leave me in debt, we are doing it on a very tight budget. I'm sure though there will be some money left over so whatever is left over I am going to use to pay off my store card0
