Hello everyone, Any advice would be REALLY appreciated!!! I have recently applied for a mortgage through a broker (I think he just did a light footprint search) and was refused. It was a joint application with my partner who was accepted. I have my credit file, there are currently 4 settled defaults and 1 default which…

unsolicited letters - found out who sent them not happy
https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4687379 I wrote to the company that sent the letters where did they get my details from. They wrote back saying they got them from Experian. The only reason I dealt with Experian as a recent mystery shopper assignment I did required me to check my credit score as they only…

Bank cant trace account and remove default?
I have an unpaid default of £390 on an old account that was closed three years ago. Having only just discovered this default I am trying to pay it off, however the bank cannot trace the account. The account was with A&L but is registered with Sandander. Anyone got any idea how I can go about paying this off to get it…

Credit file settlement date question.
I was made bankrupt , sequestrated in Scotland on 16 May 2007, and discharged by debtor on 16 May 2010. On my Credit Expert account I still have a account regarded as defaulted or delinquent on the report with Northern Rock. The account shows as status as satisfied and the account as settled but with a settlement date of…

Not updated accounts
I've recently started using Santander for my main current&savings account, and Lloyds as my emergency fund account. My wages have been paid into my Santander account since May. Lloyds hasn't reported any updates on my credit files since April; is that likely to be because I'm not paying into it regularly now? There's no…

Apart from Credit Cards?
Hiya folks, Just after some advice on options I have to build my credit rating (no matter how small etc). I think Credit Cards are out of the question as I did have a Capital One (for bad credit) I abused a while back and I'm pretty sure none of the bad credit companies would touch me. What else can I do folks? SB

Inaccurate default ?
Quick question guys I've got a thread on CAG which is closely related. What I would like to know is if a default appears on your file and its a wrong amount outstanding do I have a case to argue not kept up to date or accurate etc. to get it removed? Default was for 754 but I believe I have proof from a SAR showing…

Disputing defaults
Hi I have a default registered against me which I am disputing. It originated from Egg Credit Card. I did not miss any payments but did enter a DMP and they accepted reduced payments and removed interest. They sold/transferred the debt to Cabot Finance who are also showing the default. I have no record or recollection of…

Partial Payment - What's The Score?
I'm looking to start paying off my debts to get my credit score back up but I can't afford to pay it all off. I'm aiming to offer 50% to all my creditors. I know if they accept the payment, a 'P' will go on my credit file to show that partial payment has been made. Will this mean that i will still have trouble getting…

Experian - really difficult to update their records
Myself and my partner tried to remove our electoral details from the old property - and for that I sent 3 letters, yes, 3 letters over the last few months to Experian. With the letter I sent copy from the council saying that our name was removed. They said that they need to confirm with the council - why can't they make a…

Credit Reference Agencies (CRA's)
Hello, So following the information I looked at Experian - wow £2 statutory / £14.99 membership. I called as my previous login seemed not to work. You can actually look at the £2 on-line however typical - add '/stat' to their website address (make money out of the public without offering anything at all) it takes 5 days or…

Renting a property with a previous CCJ
Hi all, i've posted this in the 'renting' section of the forum but thought it might be worthwhile sticking it in here, too. Apologies if that's frowned upon, by the way. OK, i acquired a CCJ in 2007 due to debt accumulated through living away from home at University (daft, i know.) This has since been settled, but i am…
