Credit file settlement date question.

I was made bankrupt , sequestrated in Scotland on 16 May 2007, and discharged by debtor on 16 May 2010. On my Credit Expert account I still have a account regarded as defaulted or delinquent on the report with Northern Rock. The account shows as status as satisfied and the account as settled but with a settlement date of 23/06/08.
My question is I was under the impression that from the date of bankruptcy all accounts were cleared and then drop off my credit file six years after that date.
Would you advise I contact Northern Rock and question this settlement date or Trustee,s of Sequestrated accounts have time after a bankruptcy is declared to settle what they have with lenders?
I know you mentioned the rules have changed recently ? Would this affect my case it getting this entry totally cleared from my credit file or have I got to wait until 23/06/14 for this entry to drop off 7 years after the bankruptcy date?

What is recorded as the "default date"?
Do the previous status codes show a "D" for default?
Not certain from what you say whether this was actually defaulted (default/delinquent balance covers either possibility), or whether it's just been classed as delinquent up until the point it was marked as settled?
Also what type of account was this?Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

Hi thanks for getting back so swiftly to answer your questions no recorded default date is shown from my credit file online today or from previous copies I printed off in 2010.
Under the section Account status details 1-12 months
The current code numbers referring to late payments are shown below along with what was owed at the time on that date. Sixes in red, three,s and two,s and ones in orange and zero in green.

Status Code:
Balance:
0 6. 6. 5. 4. 3. 3.
£0 £100,890 £100,226 £99,570 £98,919 £98,250 £97,586
2. 1. 0. O. O.
£96,918 £96,284 £95,679 £95,078 £95,038
It was a Mortgage account tied in with a loan secured on the house.
It appears as just been classed as delinquent from what I can see which is surprising as I stopped the payments on bankruptcy.
I had other other debts aswell that where included in the bankruptcy that were showing as defaulted with wrong dates that I've have managed to clear using your advice and using the IC to clear the date issue up with the companies involved thus clearing my credit file. I'm not to sure where I stand with this issue with Northern Rock mind?0 -
Well, in theory it should have been defaulted and assuming any shortfall went into the bankruptcy, the default should have been backdated to the date you went bankrupt.
Problem with Northern Rock is that they (a) don't have a clue, and (b) will usually deny outright that the ICO guidance applies to this.
However, assuming that any shortfall went into the BR then the princopels here "should" apply;

Thanks for the advice and forum link, I will write to Northern Rock first stating what I believe is showing wrong on my file quoting your sticky and take it from there. If I need to get the IC involved I will. I know they are very slow dealing with things from past experience probably take a year to resolve!0
