CreditCheckInstantly - Tired mistake.

I've spent about three years paying off huge debts I had (30k) and as of next month am debt free basically (slight issue with one £500 credit card explained in Credit Card forum!!) so wanted to check that everything was 'sorted' as regards credit report.

Couldn't use Equifax or Experian as had previously used free trails with them so went with the only other 'Google recommended' one in CreditCheckInstantly. Wanted free trial to check then cancel. Did this yesterday.

I was overly tired when I did this so didn't really do the research I should have but it seems these aren't the most trustworthy of people so have tried to cancel immediately. Contacting them is near on impossible. I've sent emails to three email addresses I could find.

Is there any advice anyone else has about this company or what to do in similar circumstances in general? Don't want to be billed £20 a month forever (or once!).

Have you tried calling them? If you really can't get in touch, write to your bank telling them you don't authorise this company to collect any payments.

There are only three credit reference agencies in the UK - Experian, Equifax and Callcredit - and you might be better off dealing with them direct. You can get a one-off report from a CRA at any time and as often as you like for just £2.

Google doesn't recommend or endorse anyone. What you saw were sponsored search results.

I am an official company representative of Experian. MSE has given permission for me to post in response to queries about the company, so that I can help solve issues. You can see my name on the companies with permission to post list. I am not allowed to tout for business at all. If you believe I am please report it to forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com This does NOT imply any form of approval of my company or its products by MSE"
