HSBC Advance Reward Credit Card - Worth It?
I recently applied for the HSBC Advance bank account and was accepted, reason being I want to keep this and my First Direct account and take advantage of both regular savers. HSBC are trying to sell me the Advance Reward CC. Which sounds interesting but 1 point per £5 spent just seems a little steep. But the part I'm…

My problem is that I have a UK credit card which I’m attempting to pay off, but it’s proving difficult with high APR and fees to transfer money from AUD to GBP. The card is a Capital One Card and has…

When monthly full payment of CC isn't enough
Hello, I encountered what I consider to be unusual interest charges on my credit card recently and wondered if what I have been told is right - basically that it's completely normal. It's not big money but it's potentially interesting.. In early September I withdrew some cash from an overseas ATM. My direct debit is set up…

Beware ASDA Credit Card for Large Purchases
This is my 'Name and Shame' post for the year:...... And ASDA CREDIT CARD (CREATION FINANCE) wins by a mile! I have promoted this card for years because it is free, and gives 1% cash back off all ASDA purchases. OK, so that cash now goes down to a pittance of 0.2% outside the store but provides a really nice voucher to…

Company changed card halfway through contract
Hi all - I recently took out a business credit card (technically charge card) with Capital on tap. It was a mastercard, and it's main selling point to self employed was that it could be used for HMRC services such as tax payments without having to pay fees as HMRC saw it as a debit card. I signed up and paid the annual fee…

John Lewis Credit Card - Credit Limit Reduction - Part 2
About a couple of months ago, there was a thread here about John Lewis credit card users having their credit limits reduced. I calmed down a bit after my initial reaction to my limit reduction, but still raised a complaint about it. This has proven worthwhile. Although it's taken a long time, I got a substantive response…
