Is cashback really the best option?
I have been with Coutts & Co for 40 years. I pay good money for their Gold credit card, but I have never once had a problem with their service. Their rewards are probably pitiful and my wife is urging change. They call me when there is a possible misuse - on the most recent occasion I was called within 15 minutes of my…

CC Fraud - what next?
Hi All! About 6 months ago, someone ripped off my credit card and started charging loads of stuff to it (about 1k). I destroyed my card; the bank reissued another and got rid of the illegal transactions, so I didn't really think much more about it... About 3 months ago, the same thing happened to a close friend of mine.…

Balance transfer card that allows transfer to bank account?
I'm looking for a balance transfer card with 6 months or more at 0% that allows me to do balance transfers to a bank account. Egg allows this but I closed my egg account in Jan and you have to wait 12 months before you can reapply apparently. I'm struggling to find another card that allows it.

New M&S Customer
After reading thru the very helpful advice given on this web site I've decided to do a balance transfer to shift my Visa debt which, although being managed, tends to stay too high. And I'm p'd off paying around 16% when I can get a whopping 10% lower by shopping around. Any idea what sort of credit limit I might be…

HSBC 0% purchases bad deal think twice!
Hi friends, Just had a frustrating phone call with HSBC i thought i'd warn you all. I wanted a good card for 0% purchases so followed one of Martins top cards. I was accepted for the HSBC card (good income and credit score) but they set the credit limit so low that it renders the 12 month 0% deal pointless. I cancelled…
