Balance Transfer Warning!!!

in Credit cards
I have recently taken out a new Tesco Creditcard and took advantage of their balance transfer offer. Unfortunately I did not read the print closely enough, I Know, and now feel duped. Why? because whilst I used the card my purchases balance increased, and when I paid in only the interest free balance reduced. Therefore, it is impossible for me to run the card completely interest free. What's more I have paid a balance transfer fee of 2%. So whilst I had hoped to benefit by delaying the use of my savings it has actually cost me more. The only way, as i see it, to have benefited from the offer was to transfer the balance but not use the card. Moral of the story ALWAYS READ THE SMALL PRINT

Many people here, after getting a card for BT purposes, cut up the card so they don't use it. It's a fairly well known trap to fall into.
Pity you got caught. Wish you had browsed here first.
Next time...
