Texaco Card Application
Hi Group (and Martin...*waves*), A few months ago I moved my credit card debts to Barclaycard...and am currently enjoying their 0% offer until September. Since the move, I've built up another three thousand on the older cards (mainly for house improvements) - I currently have a good credit rating but would like to take the…

Warning - check your credit file
For the last 18 months I have paid Experian to have instant access to my credit file anytime of the day or night. In my case, the Experian report is correct. So out of curiousity I decided to pay the £9 to access my Equifax record online. You can imagine the shock I was in when I discovered that I am financially associated…

What Martin said on J Vine about cards
I listened to most of the programme today - excellent as usual!!! :money: BUT Martin was saying that if you had a big purchase that was going to cost, say, £5,000 that you should transfer the cost onto Texaco and get a lower interest rate for the life of the balance. BUT I tried this myself with my outstanding car loan -…

advice needed on reducing credit card dept
I am a new member, and desperately want some sound advice on how to get myself out of my credit card hell. I have 3 cards, none are at their maximum limit, and the total dept although large isn't my main problem, it's the fact that by paying the minimum on each card each month is getting me nowhere on actually attacking…

The MattLG Method - possible new scam
Halifax is now giving 1% cashback on all purchases using it's new debit card. The processing charges for shops accepting debit cards however is not based on percentages, it's a fixed rate, usually 35p or 50p depending on the service provider. So, here's the scam. Open the Halifax account and stick all the stoozed money in…

Credit cards at BFPO addresses
My husband is in the Forces and we have been stationed in Germany for the past 4 years. We have found it increasingly impossible to get a credit card because a BFPO address is not a recognised UK address. We are now back in the UK and are still suffering as we have only lived at this address for a matter of weeks. We are…

My mum was asked to write to the underwriters?!
Ok, I've recently been trying to help my mum sort out her finances but switching to 0% BT Credit cards. She got a £6000 limit from texaco but still had another £6000 to transfer there so I told her to ring up to see if she could BT more to the texaco card (so she would need to get a higher credit limit). After asking for a…

Newbie CC BT question
Hi, I have just been accepted for an Egg CC with a limit of 3.5k, which is more than enough for me to transfer cc's, O/D's etc... to take advantage of their 0% BT deal. My credit score must be quite low at the moment - due to huge bank charges due to my (ex) employer not paying properly/on-time etc... So I was suprised to…

Stoozers Can You Help Me
I have FD accounts, with I feel, enough complicated banking going on. I have stoozed a number of cards successfully. The problem is it is tortureous with my current account keeping it topped up to always pay all the CC's minimum monthly payment. I want to simplify but in a financially lucrative way. I am already exploiting…

FD credit limit - seems very high
Mr purplepatch had an old classic visa card. He phoned them and asked whether he could have the 0% on BTs deal and they said yes, no prob, and said they would send him a new card and agreed to a £17k limit over the phone. We were expecting him to get a gold card as a replacement, but today another classic card turned up.…

Getting a CC, now what?
Hi I applied for an egg card yesterday and was informed I'd have a credit limit of £4500. Is it worth stoozing with this amount? If so, do I just ring them up and ask for a balance transfer of this amount into my bank account? I apologise if these are stupid qus but money's never been my strong point! Thanks Lucie

What is stoozing?
Sorry to seem stupid, but I've been reading lots of posts and people keep mentioning 'Stoozing' - I have no idea what it means.
